Rotator Cuff Repair Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery-Dr. Eric Janssen
Dr. Eric Janssen performs an arthroscopic rotator cuff repair on a 50 year old male patient who was experiencing pain and limited range of motion. When the patient came to our office he was unable to raise his arm above his shoulder. After reviewing his MRI and noting a tear in the rotator cuff as well as some damage to his labrum we scheduled arthroscopic shoulder surgery. This procedure is performed on an out-patient basis, meaning the patient goes home the same day of surgery. The patient generally wakes from surgery in a shoulder immobilizer. This is an arm sling that straps around the waist to prevent movement. Your post op physical therapy will be prescribed by your orthopedic surgeon and will vary depending upon the size of your repair.
